Circle Time
Every School day begins with Circle time at 8:50. This provides teachers with a great way to ‘check-in’ with the students and hear about how they are feeling each morning.

YCDI!
Every Monday afternoon at 2:25, all classes have a dedicated Wellbeing session based around the keys to success in the YCDI! program. The 5 keys are based on the research of Michael E. Bernard and are;
- Confidence
- Persistence
- Getting Along
- Organisation
- Resilience

YCDI! Awards & Chaplain Awards
Staff members select individual students from their classes for awards on a weekly basis, when students are identified for achieving successes in their school life including both academic and wellbeing. These awards are presented during our Friday assemblies.

The Resilience Project delivers emotionally engaging programs to schools, sports clubs and businesses, providing practical, evidence-based, positive mental health strategies to build resilience and happiness.
We have delivered programs to over 500 schools around the country and worked with many elite sporting teams including the Australian cricket, netball and soccer teams, NRL and AFL clubs.
Through presentations, wellbeing journals, school curriculum, teacher diaries and our app, we seek to help all Australians become mentally healthy.
Somerville primary School is proud to be partnered with The Resilience Project to share the message of Gratitude, Empathy and Mindfulness with our students and their families.
